Each year, following the annual football and volleyball scrimmages, the Student Council sponsors a dance exclusively for HHS students: the StuCo Mixer. Mix 93.3 was the selected DJ for the dance held on Friday, Aug. 28 in the HHS Commons. “The StuCo Mixer is the bomb diggity,” Zach Bowser, senior, said. The dance has been a tradition for many students who have gone to HHS. “It has been a part of the school for more than 15 years,” Debbie Harshaw, StuCo sponsor, said. “It’s a great way for fellow students to get acquainted in a fun atmosphere.” “I thought it was pretty fun and I will definitely go again next year,” Emily Montgomery, freshman, said. Admission to the dance was $1 per person or a can of food, in an effort to help out the local food pantry. Ninety-three cans of food will be donated, and $143 will be given to a selected charity. “I felt like the students were very polite and appreciative of what StuCo did for them,” Harshaw said.
