With 10 minute break and late start gone, you can all rest assured that DeLay of Game is here to stay.
While some college football players are getting out of practice and probably playing some video games, Tom Thompson is most likely reviewing his retirement options. Thompson is a kicker for Austin College. He is a full-time student and father of four. At 61 years old, Thompson could be a father to most of the players on the team. “I literally have good friends who are 40 years younger than me…” said Thompson of his teammates. Thompson plans to write a book on fitness and personal health after the season is over. The Chiefs really like what he has to offer, and plan on grabbing him in the first round next year.
It is a good thing the Chiefs released Larry Johnson. Allowing LJ to make those comments, and then go on to break Priest Holmes record for the most yards as a Chief, would have been a disaster. He was averaging 2.7 yards per carry and hadn’t scored yet this season. He was definitely not worth all the distractions he brought. “We decided it was in the best interests of the Kansas City Chiefs organization to move forward at this time,” Todd Haley, head coach, said.
Things that make me scratch my head:
On Sunday the Chiefs got their second win of the season and their first rushing touchdown of the season; both came after the release of Larry Johnson.
After reading this in Sports Illustrated, I had to shake my head and feel sorry for this team. A high school cross country team in Maryland had its’ county championship taken away from them because a runner had colored stitching on his compression shorts. Who complained about that? And frankly, who cares?
With Notre Dame’s loss to Pittsburg over the weekend, head coach Charlie Weis’s 35-25 record at Notre Dame is the same as the last Notre Dame coach that was fired. Comment on this article at www.holtonian.com, and give your input on whether or not Charlie Weis should be fired after the season is over.
Leading the Colts by six with a little over two minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Patriots elected to go for fourth and two on their own 28-yard line. They failed the conversion, and the Colts went on to score a touchdown and win the game by one. Peyton Manning was on cover of the last issue of Sports Illustrated. So much for the jinx.
Here are some mind blowing fantasy numbers to think about.
Leon Washington is owned in 30% of ESPN leagues.
Leon Washington broke his fibula October 25th.
Owen Daniels, and his torn ACL, is still owned in over half of ESPN leagues.
This month is national inspirational role models month. Don’t everybody write me at once.
