High expectations are expected from Kansas Jayhawk basketball fans as their team starts off the year ranked as the #1 team in the nation. The Jayhawks return all five of their starters (one of the starters Brady Morningstar received a DUI and has to sit out the first semester) and look to win their fifth straight Big 12 conference regular season title.
The Hawks are lead senior guard Sherron Collins, and junior center Cole Aldrich. The two of them combined for 1,181 points. They are considered the best 1-2 punch in the nation.
Some new faces for the Jayhawks include Xavior Henry, Thomas Robinson, and Elijah Johnson, all who are expected to have key roles in the season.
“We’re going to be good,” Megan Clark, freshman, said.
KU tips the regular season off Friday night at Allen Fieldhouse against the Hofstra Pride.
