DeLay of Game

Welcome back, everybody; the Breakdown is gone, but DeLay of Game will be taking its place.
Let’s jump into the important stuff, as the first edition of fantasy outlook is underway.
Fantasy Outlook:
Week 1….
Fantasy football results show Drew Brees to be the top scorer, scoring half as many fantasy points as my whole team. The Lions were torn apart by Brees, suffering their 18th consecutive loss in a row. Wow, what a surprise.
*Hint to fantasy owners, start your quarterback if he is playing the Lions.
Week 2….
My bold advice to fantasy owners involving the Lions defense appears to hold true, as even Brett Favre had a 115.3 passer rating against them… matching his age. The stud of Week Two would have to be Chris Johnson; he was an animal, compiling 284 total yards and 3 touchdowns. My 13th round sleeper pick Cedric Benson has impressed me so far, compiling 250 yards and a touchdown through two weeks. He is owned in 80 percent of ESPN leagues, so you may be able to pick him up.
The Chiefs defense didn’t show up in their season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens had over 500 yards of total offense, a franchise record. But, the Chiefs did play without Cassel, and only lost by two touchdowns. That’s not too bad considering Baltimore won the same number of games last year in the playoffs as Kansas City won all year.
My optimism after week one’s close loss to Baltimore was quickly diminished when the Chiefs lost to division rival Raiders in Cassel’s debut.
The Chiefs squandered an opportunity just before half, as they were
deep in Raider territory with just enough time to take a shot at the end zone. Instead, Cassel completed a pass in the flat and Dantrell Savage failed to get out-of-bounds. Time ran off the clock and the Chiefs ended up not getting any points out of the deal. Kansas City went on to lose by three points. This seems to be a trend. The Chiefs lost their last ten games last year by an average of five points.
The Royals have been the worst team in baseball for the past five years, but they have the best record of American League teams playing National League teams. Figure that out.
The Madden curse seems to already be in place as Troy Polamalu was injured in the Steelers’ opening game. He is supposed to be out 3-6 weeks with a knee injury. This is bad news for Larry Fitzgerald, who shared the Madden 2010 video game cover with Polamalu.
In another sad injury report, my favorite player, defensive star Brian Urlacher, had season-ending surgery on his wrist. #54 you are #1 in my heart.
Good luck to volleyball, cross-country, cheerleading, dancers, scholar’s bowl, and football as they all begin their seasons.
This week is National Chimney Safety Week.
Today is Family Day, a day to eat dinner with your family.
Enjoy dining with your family tonight, while conversing about chimney safety.
