The book Our Boys by Joe Drape is a very entertaining story. It’s about a very successful coach, Roger Barta, and his football team and how they help their very small town in western Kansas, Smith Center, through rough times. Coming off an undefeated season and another class 2A state football championship, the team’s streak of 62 straight games with a win is in the most danger it has ever been in. Joe Drape and his family move from New York to the town and follow the team and learn that this community has more than a good football team. They have good people.
